Races can serve as a marker for your fitness goals with distance race performance a life time milestone. Running and distance races are also growing significantly over the past decade, especially in the baby boomer population.  With this increase in numbers and the aging of the population, concerns occur about the risk for runners of sudden death during a race have increased.
